In Hungary there are a number of singers which towers above the rest. That is amongst a few others Márta Sebestyén (Muzsikás) and also Irén Lovász. Last-named singer and cultural anthropologist has an angel-like voice which she reveals solo and with groups like Makám and Teagrass. With those groups she makes generally a mixture of Hungarian folk, jazz, traditional and sometimes experimental music.

Irén Lovász is a notable singer with a calm, serene delivery, never overtly impassioned... but hearing her alighting naturally and accurately on those microtonal melodic ledges is a delight... and it's a sort of album hat if tracks were played through the PA before a gig there'd be a queue of inquirers at the mixing desk.

In Hungarian, primás usually refers to the lead fiddler of a band, but other instrumentalists, such as the cimbalom player, could equally be the lead musician. Assembled for Primás Parade is a supergroup of musicians drawn from the folk, jazz, rock and classical scenes with a common root in traditional music. An entire primás group does conjure up an Orwellian paradox: everyone is a primás but some are more primás than others.

A 2004-ben alakult Napra együttes 2007-ben megjelent első lemezével (Jaj, a világ!) rögtön letette név- és hangjegyét a világzene, folk-rock műfajban. A második korongra viszonylag sokáig kellett várni, de nemcsak a lassú munkához, hanem a nagy dolgokhoz is idő kell – addig sem tétlenkedtek azonban, újabb számokat szereztek, Both Miklós kiadott egy Radnóti-lemezt, és megfordultak az összes fontosabb fedett és szabadtéri koncertszínpadon a Müpától a Szigetig.
