Gypsy HeartBeats celebrates the exceptional role the Roma have played in keeping alive and renewing the music of the Carpathian Basin. The Opening Concert of WOMEX15 presents a selection from this colourful and characteristic musical world; ranging from pure authenticity to rich decorativeness. The show’s predecessor is the much praised Hungarian HeartBeats production also by Hangvető, which opened WOMEX in 2011, Copenhagen. This October Hangvető aims to win attention and acclaim for local Roma music.
